PROJECT

Victorian House New Joinery

PROJECT

North-Kensington-7

This project was for a young family that wanted to transform a tired Edwardian house located at the heart of the St Quintin Conservation Estate into their forever home. The property had to be child friendly but equipped to stand the test of time. Working alongside Turner Pocock design studio and our sister company Kudos Design and build, we were commissioned to provide modern and timeless joinery pieces throughout the entire house.

The house was purchased in its almost original form, it hadn’t been touched in over 30 years, with aging plaster, multiple layers of wallpaper and dark interiors, it did not offer a very cosey, family orientated, child friendly interior.

With the help of Interior Designers at Turner Pocock and our in house workmen we appointed to create high quality durable Joinery for every room. In the nursery we introduced soft hand pained shaker style joinery with a lot of closed storage and a build in baby changing station which is ideal, as the parents can have everything they need close by. For the painted finish the designer opted for a slate 5 colour from Paint and Paper Library.

The main bedroom had to be a calming area and a get away for the parents. To create an illusion of a larger space we installed timber and glass wall partitioning which exposed bespoke hand painted wardrobes in their walk in closet.

The bathroom had to be functional for both adults and the children. Free stranding his and hers vanity units were installed in a low shine paint finish which provide more space for the families everyday needs. The Interior Designer chose to pair the Sage Green paint with the marble worktop creating a timeless yet durable look. We have added a built-in bath with a bead and paneled upstand, complemented with statement silver fittings. For closed storage the Designer wanted simple yet stunning, built-in cupboards on either side of the bath. Going with the shaker style theme, the doors were painted in the same finish as the bath paneling making it an eye-catching wall in the bathroom.
